Crowds celebrate Labor Day at Orchard Beach despite rainy forecast

Some Bronx residents celebrated the unofficial end of summer by heading out to Orchard Beach.

Families who decided to take a chance on the rainy forecast had the advantage of enjoying ample parking and plenty of space to spread out on the beach.

After three people were struck by lightning on the beach yesterday, many say they think people decided to change their plans.

Sunbathers and swimmers say they will be keeping their eye out for bad weather, but that it's the least of their worries with school just around the corner.
