NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton supports pilot program to have officers wear body cameras

Police Commissioner Bill Bratton has expressed his support for a pilot program to have NYPD officers wear body cameras out on the streets.
The body camera proposal emerged in the wake of Eric Garner's death. The Brooklyn native died after he was put into an apparent chokehold while being arrested on Staten Island.
Supporters say the cameras would bring truth to situations where police say one thing and civilians says another. Mayor Bill de Blasio said he would support the program, as long as the plan is perfected.
