The car that matches police's description of the vehicle involved in a hit-and-run last week has been found.
The white Chevy Impala with the black front quarter panel and bumper was spotted on surveillance video after the accident last week. Police say the driver, 25-year-old Alex Hernandez, struck 50-year-old Cristina Aybar twice, sending her to the hospital in critical condition.
The car was found in Mount Vernon the same day police released the surveillance video. It was towed to the 40th Precinct Tuesday evening.
Police are still looking for Hernandez, but they say they are in contact with his lawyer. He is expected to turn himself in.
