Yaroslav Kolchin arrested for climbing Brooklyn Bridge
A 24-year-old man has been arrested after police say he scaled to the top of the Brooklyn Bridge.
According to authorities, Yaroslav Kolchin was caught on video while climbing along the iconic structure Sunday afternoon. They say he didn't cause any damage, but did stop to take pictures with his phone.
Officers were waiting for Kolchin when he made his way back down and immediately took him into custody. He's charged with reckless endangerment, criminal trespassing and obstruction of a government administration.
The incident marks the second time this summer that someone has been able to climb the bridge, raising major security concerns on the city's landmarks.
The bridge's two American flags were swapped with bleached-out versions just last month. Two German artists have taken credit for that stunt, but so far, have not been charged.
