Best of the Bronx: Pedro Luis Fonseca, 72, publishes first children's book 'Jasmine and Pupulo in the Forest'
A Bronx senior is now an author after publishing his first children's book.
Pedro Luis Fonseca, 72, released "Jasmine and Pupulo in the Forest" a few weeks ago.
Fonseca thought of the story that inspired his book 14 years ago. It is based on his niece Jasmine, now 21, and her brother, who Fonseca calls "Pupulo."
Fonseca says it wasn't his plan to publish a book, but he got the idea after hearing his niece tell the story to her little brother.
The story is about a girl who lives with her grandfather and gets lost in the forest one day when she goes for a walk. The adventure begins when she meets a rabbit named Pupulo, who helps her find her way home.
The story also includes familiar characters like Little Red Riding Hood.
The book is available in both Spanish and English. It can be found on Amazon.com.
Fonseca is already working on his second book, which will be available in the next few months.
