Permanent memorial erected in Edgewater in honor of Jamie Warfel, who was stabbed to death in 1998

A new memorial in Edgewater will stand in honor of a young man who was killed there over a decade ago.
Jamie Warfel was stabbed to death in 1998, during his final year at NYU.
Alwin Warfel created a memorial for his 22-year-old son shortly after his death, but the Edgewater Park Owners Cooperative had him take it down years later. Now the co-op has created a new memorial for the teen.
His father says the family is happy to see that Jamie will not be forgotten.
