Preston Center of Compassion day camp puts twist on ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
The Preston Center of Compassion day camp is putting a twist on the Ice Bucket Challenge at their last day of camp.
In the challenge, a friend posts a video of someone dumping a bucket of ice on his or her head. Then, they challenge other friends to do the same, or donate $100 to the ALS foundations fighting the disease.
Instead of paying to not get ice dumped on their heads, the kids at the day camp are paying a few dollars to get the chance to dump ice cold water on their counselors' heads.
The kids loved the new twist to the challenge and donated almost $1,000.
There is no known cure for ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. But, millions of dollars have been raised this summer for the cause.
