Officials: Henry Hudson Parkway retaining wall is in need of repairs
Officials are requesting that the retaining walls that divide the roads around the Henry Hudson Parkway be fixed immediately.
Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz alerted the New York State Department of Transportation about large holes and rust he found in the wall, which could create unsafe conditions for drivers. He says the retaining wall is in poor condition on both the north and south sides of the roadway.
"I was really astounded because this took a long time to happen," Dinowitz told News 12. "The agencies are supposed to do inspections...but clearly that hasn't happened."
The DOT says the wall is structurally sound. It says crews are currently working on cosmetic fixes to it.
