A new track and field area was unveiled today in Soundview Park.
The attraction features a 400-meter regulation track, an area to pole vault, high jump, long jump and triple jump.
It also includes a synthetic turf, soccer field, an adult fitness center and lighting so there can be safe play during the evening hours.
The area is part of a $6 million project funded by the PLANYC Initiative.
It is just the latest of other features expected to improve Soundview Park.
