Missing Wakefield siblings Kayleen Buchanan, Dameion Turner found safe

A young brother and sister who went missing from their Wakefield home have been found safe.

According to police, 9-year-old Kayleen Buchanan and 8-year-old Dameion Turner were reunited with loved ones after spending the night at the house of their mother's friend.

The kids disappeared while playing in front of their house on the 700-block of East 229th Street at around 4 p.m. Wednesday.

The NYPD, family members and neighbors spent Thursday morning posting missing persons fliers around the area.

News 12 The Bronx is told that both children were brought back to their parents at the 47th Precinct.

It is unknown at this time where the mother's friend lives, or why the children were there.
