Hunts Point Alliance for Children and Iridescent offer summer science program for kids
A partnership between two groups is teaching Bronx children entering kindergarten about science.
The group effort between the Hunts Point Alliance for Children and Iridescent, a science education nonprofit group, helped develop a curriculum for children ages 4 and 5.
The children participated in their final lesson Tuesday, which asked them to build a boat using everyday materials.
Teachers say the lesson introduces the young students to the scientific concepts of buoyancy and density.
This is the first year the two organizations partnered up. They plan on continuing the lesson plans next year.
