Neighbors apprehend alleged thief on East 190th Street
A group of residents came to the aid of a neighbor by apprehending an alleged thief.
The incident happened on East 190th Street.
The building's superintendent said the suspect went into a woman's apartment, bound her arms and legs with duct tape, and stole her jewelry, iPhone and $140.
When the suspect left the apartment, the 23-year-old woman screamed out of a window. Her neighbors grabbed him and held the alleged attacker until police arrived.
Witnesses say the suspect had all of her belongings in his possession.
Neighbors say that the woman is OK, except for red marks on her wrists and ankles.
The suspect is currently in police custody.
