Four emergency responders who were called to help a Staten Island man who died in police custody are now barred from taking 911 calls.
Two EMTs and two paramedics were placed on "modified duty" pending an investigation into Eric Garner's death.
Garner, 43, is seen in a video from The Daily News being questioned by police, then being brought to the ground in a chokehold.
News 12 The Bronx is told Garner went into cardiac arrest after saying several times that he could not breathe. Garner was being arrested on suspicion of selling untaxed cigarettes.
Multiple rallies were held over the weekend to demand answers about Garner's death. The two officers involved in the arrest have been assigned to desk duty.
