Woodlawn Cemetery, burying ground for many jazz legends, to expand
Woodlawn Cemetery, famous for housing jazz legends like Duke Ellington and Miles Davis, is developing five more acres to accommodate more burials.
The cemetery cremates 2,500 people a year and buries about 1,000.
Five new buildings, including at least one new mausoleum, are also slated for construction.
The 150-year-old cemetery owns 400 acres of land altogether.
