Tipped workers ask New York lawmakers to enforce minimum wage
A group of restaurant workers is demanding that the state's minimum wage apply to everyone, even those who rely on tips.
The coalition of servers, bartenders and delivery drivers are heading to Albany to tell lawmakers that $5 per hour for tipped workers is not enough money.
Employers can pay reduced rates to those who earn gratuities, but the workers argue that they should get the full minimum wage of $8 an hour.
New York's minimum wage is set to increase to $9 by the end of 2015.
