Temperatures rise for hottest day in the Bronx this year

Today was the hottest day of the year so far for the Bronx, and the official start of summer is still three days away.

News 12 meteorologists say the temperature hovered around 90 degrees, which is above-average for this time of year.

With the heat and humidity on the rise, anyone planning to enjoy the sunny weather should also remember to take care of themselves.

Health experts are reminding everyone to drink plenty of water and look for places to stay cool if heading to their neighborhood parks. Don't forget to wear sunscreen and protective clothing, such as a hat or sunglasses.
