Jogger allegedly groped near Botanical Gardens says police weren't helpful
The Bronx woman who claims she was forcibly touched by a man while she was jogging says she is unhappy with the lack of police investigation in the incident.
The 26-year-old victim says she was running in front of the New York Botanical Garden at around 7:15 p.m. Monday when a man grabbed her butt and tried to grab her breast.
The woman says she grabbed the man and pushed him away, then ran into the middle of Southern Boulevard to get help. She says she called 911 seven times but received no help.
She also says she tried to get the attention of two police cars that drove by, but they kept driving.
A pair of drivers stopped and tried to catch the man, but he ran off.
Safety and security officials at Fordham University say they have a good shot of the suspect on surveillance video and they have given it to police for their investigation.
The suspect is described as being a light-skinned Hispanic man in his 20s with dark hair and a mustache.
