Darrell Patillo refuses to stand before victim’s family for murder sentencing
The man convicted of killing 22-year-old Jonathan Lewis in 2012 refused to stand before Lewis' family in court at a sentencing hearing Monday afternoon.
The attorney for convicted killer Darrell Patillo, 18, tried to convince him to show his face in court, but was unsuccessful.
Lewis was gunned down on Webster Avenue in Fordham in 2012. Patillo was convicted of murder and criminal possession of a weapon in the death. Lewis' sister told News 12 that her brother was visiting a friend's memorial at the time he was shot. The memorial was for another man who was shot at the same location.
Patillo's next court date for sentencing will be June 19.
