BX residents thankful empty lot is clean
(07/15/03) MORRISANIA - Residents living on Coles Lane in Morrisania say they are thankful the city finally made good on cleaning up a vacant lot that's been an eyesore for years, but say a lot more needs to be done.
The residents say the vacant lot is also a hangout for drug addicts and criminals. Part of the problem they say is that the lot needs to be completely fenced in and there needs to be a greater police presence.
Some say they have written letters to Bronx officials but have yet to get a response. For now, one group of residents plans on filing a petition to have the lot fenced in. The Bronx borough president has also offered to help.
