Three BX areas designated the cleanest
(07/25/03) THROGS NECK - For the eighth straight year, areas within Community Board 10 have been named the cleanest in the borough by the city.
The annual report judges neighborhoods based on how much litter there is on streets and sidewalks. The areas included in Community Board 10 are Throgs Neck, Zerega and Co-op City.
One Throgs Neck resident says the city helps keep things clean but the people in the community also help pitch in. James Vacca, of Community Board 10, says the Bronx gets a bad rap. He says people are very proud to live in the Bronx.
The lowest rated areas on the report were the south section of the Grand Concourse and industrial sections of Hunts Point.
