Subway changes for Bronx riders

(08/08/03) MELROSE - Straphangers who use Bronx subway lines are in for a few service changes this weekend. The Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) is performing maintenance on 14 lines including some of the busiest Bronx subway routes.

Bronx-bound No. 2 and 5 trains will skip Jackson, Prospect and Intervale avenues, Simpson and Freeman streets due to signal work. From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. all weekend long.

The MTA will be providing Bronx straphangers with shuttle bus service to connect them to their regular station.
