Blackout makes getting gas a struggle throughout the Bronx

As power began coming back on, the lines to get gas kept growing.

Although traveling by car remains the best way to get around, drivers were having their fair share of trouble getting gas. Car after car lined up for gas at stations in the Bronx after a massive blackout shut down the pumps.

But even after power came back on in parts of the Bronx some drivers were still unable to gas up. In some cases, stations simply ran out of gas, leaving some drivers who were on empty stranded.

One driver in Throgs Neck was on line for gas for more than 20 minutes and although he was fed up, he had no choice but to wait.

Police say they have had to break up fights between drivers waiting for gas.

So, if you are planning on filling up you should give yourself extra time, and if it's not an emergency you should hold off.
