Two-alarm fire in Williamsbridge forces families from their homes

An early morning fire quickly spread from a vacant building to homes next door.

Dozens of firefighters worked to put out the blaze, while families in homes next to where the fire began were forced to evacuate. Charice Bazemore says she quickly grabbed her kids and ran downstairs. She says she didn't even have time to grab any clothes.

Neighbors say a Good Samaritan was driving by and saw the flames. The man pulled over and began warning people to get out of their homes. Residents say they are grateful.

No one was injured in the fire. Fire officials say the cause of the fire is still not known, but they are investigating. The American Red Cross is now helping some of the families find temporary housing.
