Bronx program offers help to those taking care of a loved one

A new Bronx program offers caregivers help and support.

The Bronx Caregivers Service Program helps those who take care of a sick loved one deal with a tough situation. Caregivers can take advantage of the program's services at three senior centers in the Bronx. The program also offers home assistance by helping with household chores, caring for a loved one while the caregiver is at work or running errands, and providing counseling.

Program officials are looking for volunteers to expand their services. A representative from the Department of Aging says helping caregivers in the Bronx is not an easy task, but with this program she foresees many success stories.
