Bronx teens and young adults taking advantage of job workshop
Covenant House is offering Bronx teens and young adults a free program that can help them land a job.
The program is called the Job Readiness Workshop. It's a series of workshops that prepares participants for the world of work. Workshops include resume preparation, conflict resolution, work ethics and interviewing skills.
Once participants have finished the week-long course, Covenant House allows them access to its job bank. The bank is a pool of more than 800 companies from Wall Street firms to the Gap. Every one of the companies in the bank are willing to give ambitious young people a shot.
Instructors say many of the skills taught in the workshop are taken for granted, but they say when you're trying to land a job, the little things make all the difference.
