School employees work to clean P.S. 112 after it was vandalized

One day after vandals caused more than $100,000 worth of damage to P.S. 112, school employees worked to get the building ready before classes begin. School starts on Monday and everyone is pitching in to fix everything from broken desks to walls covered in graffiti.

Police believe the vandals snuck into the school through a window in the cafeteria. Authorities say the school's security alarm wasn't working, and the building doesn't have any security cameras. Investigators tell News 12 The Bronx that they do not have any leads or suspects.

Earlier this week, vandals trashed P.S. 142, which is in the same neighborhood. Staff members reporting for their first day of work at P.S. 142 had to be evacuated after the vandals apparently spilled dangerous chemicals in one of the science labs. Police are investigating whether both incidents of vandalism are connected.
