School in session at P.S. 112 despite recent vandalism

P.S. 112 opened its doors Monday after vandals caused extensive damage inside the school last week.

The first day of school at P.S. 112 was just like any other, despite Friday's incident in which vandals destroyed books, broke desks, and covered walls with graffiti. School employees worked hard over the weekend to get the building ready for classes.

Department of Education officials said classes were no different at P.S. 112 than at any other school citywide.

Police are still investigating the incident at P.S. 112 and another vandalism attack at P.S. 142 to see if the two are connected.
