Construction set to begin on Cross Bronx Expressway

Construction on the Cross Bronx Expressway is set to begin September 15.

During the overnight hours, the Department of Transportation will be closing two out of the three eastbound lanes of the expressway from the George Washington Bridge to Webster Avenue in order to do re-surfacing work. The construction will be done Monday through Friday between 11 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., and on the weekends between 9 p.m. and 10 a.m.

The DOT will also be re-surfacing the lower level of the George Washington Bridge. The eastbound lane will be closed during the overnight hours. Trucks will be routed to the southbound Major Deegan.
