Snapple strikes deal with city to become the drink of choice in schools
Snapple and the city reached an agreement making the company the official drink of city schools.
In just a few weeks, Bronx students will have fewer beverage options. As part of a deal between Snapple and the city, the only vending machines in city schools will be Snapple. The city will receive more than $100 million from the deal and about $43 million will go towards school programs and athletics.
Mayor Bloomberg is happy with the deal, saying the company is selling a healthy product that's good for kids and helping to provide funding for a better education.
