Most Bronx City Council incumbents headed for victory

Democratic Councilman Larry Seabrook defeated Shirley Saunders with 56 percent of the vote for City Council District 12. Seabrook beat Saunders by 103 votes two years ago in the Democratic primary. Madeline T. Provenzano defeated Ismael Betancourt and Egidio Sementilli for City Council District 13 with 58 percent of the vote. Democratic incumbent Maria Baez beat Israel Ruiz, Jr. for City Council District 14. Democrat Pedro Gautier Espada, a former council member, lost to Annabel Palma, a union organizer for Local 1199 for City Council District 18.
