No sidewalks makes for a dangerous situation for some Bronx students

Some kids in The Bronx are forced to walk in a busy street on their way to school because of the lack of sidewalks. Now their parents want the city to do something about it.

Hundreds of students at PS 174 and The Bronx Aerospace Academy walk to school on Lacombe Avenue each day as traffic races by. Residents say the city should build sidewalks, but that may be impossible because of regulations protecting a nearby wetland.

Community members say there have been many close calls betweens cars and kids, and say eventually a child is going to get hit.

The parks department tells News 12 The Bronx it's looking into the regulations to see what can be done.
