Two Bronx-based oil company employees die inside an oil tank

Two employees from a Bronx-based oil company died inside an oil tank after being overcome by fumes. The men were trying to clean out the fuel cell of the boiler in an apartment building on Arthur Avenue but they became trapped inside for several hours, partially submerged in fuel oil. Fire and rescue services worked for hours to remove the men. The FDNY tried to ventilate the area, but was not successful. Residents of the five-story building were not evacuated.
