Baychester Library reopens after facelift
After months of renovations the Baychester Branch Library in the Co-op City section of the Bronx has reopened. The branch had been closed since January. The $370,000 project included 22 new computers, computer tables, a new circulation desk, new lighting, flooring, painting and ceiling tiles. There's also new shelving for CDs, DVDs and videos. The community rooms also got a makeover, including new seating. Bronx Assemblyman Stephen Kaufman helped secure $250,000 in state funds for the renovation. The New York State Department of Education provided the rest of the money.
