Parents upset over shortage of school nurses

Many Bronx parents are angry over a shortage of school nurses in Catholic schools. Some schools have a nurse part-time two to three days a week, and some don't have a nurse at all.The lack of nurses has many parents worried about whether their child can receive emergency care, or everyday treatment if it is necessary. Some children that have ailments such as diabetes or asthma need treatment on a consistent basis, and may be forced to administer medication themselves. The archdiocese told News 12 The Bronx that they hardly have enough money for the schools, and therefore cannot afford to hire full-time nurses.
