Activists protest against Hunts Point fertilizer plant

Bronx activists protested against the New York Organic Fertilizer Company on Tuesday, claiming that the plant not only smells awful, but pollution from the facility is causing asthma attacks. Activists want the plant to either clean up or shut down permanently.Many people in the South Bronx are also complaining that since the plant opened, their health has noticeably deteriorated.The New York Organic Fertilizer Company is responsible for processing nearly one half of the city's sewer sludge into fertilizer.
