Some students at I.S. 52 claim they have been targeted by bullies

speaks to students at I.S. 52 who say they have been bullied. One student at I.S. 52 says she is having trouble getting a proper education because of bullies. Another student says she is not even allowed to go to the park after school because her mother is afraid the bullies may hurt her. And in two other cases, a girl says she was chased home by bullies while another student says bullies pulled a knife on her.

Parents say they notified the principal at I.S. 52 about the bullying but claim they were told nothing could be done because the incidents happened outside of school. Some parents say they have even had to take off from work just to walk their kids to and from school.

The School Safety Division of the NYPD claims it is doing the best it can. Parents are encouraged to report any incidents to police. One parent says she did file a report, but the bully is still in school and her daughter remains afraid to go to school.
