Local organization takes Bronx kids on a marine life field trip

Summer is not over for dozens of Bronx kids. They spent Saturday learning what marine life is all about thanks to a non-profit organization called the Waterfront Center.

It was a field trip full of expectations. And it was a whole new world to discover for many Bronx children. The Waterfront Center made sure kids from the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club didn't miss out on the wonders of an outdoor life.

They spent Saturday on Oyster Bay, Long Island, learning how to sail, how to fish, but most of all, how to get along with each other and make friends.

Being on the waters was a first in a lifetime experience for most of the children. Bronx parents say thanks to the program, their children get to have fun while learning.
