Long security lines persist at a number of Bronx schools
Students claim they must wait on security lines for hours and then get to class.
At Evander Childs High School, students say they have to get to school extra early just in order to make their way through security lines and to class on time. Long security lines are also an issue at Walton High School and Richard R. Green Middle School.
One Bronx student says kids are often missing classes or attendance because they cannot get through security fast enough. Some parents say it is great that there's a focus on security inside the schools, but say there is not enough security outside of the schools.
The Department of Education says it is addressing the issues by adding more support personnel at each school.
