City Council looks to cut down on bullying in Bronx schools

The City Council recently held a meeting to address the problem of bullies in Bronx and city schools. The education committee wants to amend Intro 4-18 to broaden the definitions of harassment and increase the penalties for offenders. Records show that Bronx and city schools had just 16 bias and bullying incidents in the last year. Officials say this number is low and shows that the schools are not keeping track a major problem in Bronx and city schools. Officials are calling on the Board of Education to increase its efforts to track bullying at Bronx and city schools. There's still no word on when Intro 4-18 will go up for a vote before the full City Council.
