Ongoing rodent problem at I.S. 125 has parents demanding answers

Parents say their kids are are still complaining about rodents running around I.S. 125.

Earlier this week, a number of kids complained to their parents that there were rats, mice and roaches in their classrooms and in the bathrooms. When parents found out they immediately demanded answers from the school and called the Department of Health.

The Department of Education inspected the school on Thursday and says the school passed inspection. The pest control unit also went to the school and put in some traps. Overall though, both groups feel there is no significant problem at I.S. 125.

Parents have told their children that until the situation is taken care of, don't eat any of the food at school.

The Department of Education says it will remain vigilant in ensuring that the school and every other school in NYC provides a safe and clean environment for teaching and learning.
