NY blood Center holds blood drive in the BX to try and get more people to donate

NYC has been faced with a blood shortage since the September 11th attacks.

The New York Blood Center's bloodmobile was in Parkchester Friday in an effort to get more people to donate. Hector Lopez, of the NY Blood Center, says many people do not donate blood because of either a lack of awareness or they are afraid.

If you missed the chance to donate at Friday's blood drive, the bloodmobile will continue making rounds in the Bronx at least two to three times a week.

Anyone interested in donating blood can call the NY Blood Center at 1-800-933-2566.
