Business is booming around Yankee Stadium during the Fall Classic

(10/18/03) EAST 161st STREET - Yankees fever is contagious in the Bronx, spreading outside Yankee Stadium to surrounding businesses, and business is booming thanks to the Bronx Bombers' postseason success.

East 161st Street is packed with people looking to purchase a piece of World Series history. Yankees memorabilia was flying off the shelves at stores near the Stadium hours before Game 1 of the Fall Classic.

Business owners are celebrating because the extra home games bring more business into their shops. Many of them are hoping the World Series goes to all seven games. This way, the Yankees would play four times in the Bronx, which means more fans and more sales.
