DOT looking at ways to make one Castle Hill intersection safer

Residents say the intersection of Olmstead and Newbold Avenues is an accident waiting to happen.

Residents say cars constantly roll through stop signs causing a number of accidents. They say the busy intersection is just a block away from a school and church, so it is a heavily traveled area. Residents say they fear someone is going to get killed one day if something is not done.

After complaining for many years, the Department of Transportation is looking into putting a four-way stop sign at the intersection at the request of the 43rd Precinct.

There have been 11 accidents at the intersection so far this year.
