Bronx Board of Elections workers preparing for the upcoming election

Workers at the Bronx Board of Elections are getting ready to roll out the voting machines for November 4.

Before the voting machines are brought to the various polling places across the Bronx, a few things must happen. First, the Board of Elections is working to make sure that the proposition dealing with class size does not appear on a ballot after a judge's ruling. The board also must make sure all the machines are inspected before they are sent out.

After this year's election is over, election officials are looking to re-install what's called a sensor latch on the voting machines. The latch, which helps prevent a lost vote, was removed back in the 1960's. There is also talk of switching to electronic machines because they are more reliable.

Election Day is Tuesday is November 4.
