Tenants of 2505 Aqueduct Ave. file petition over poor living conditions

Tenants of 2505 Aqueduct Ave. voiced their complaints at Bronx Housing Court Tuesday.

The tenants filed a petition at Bronx Housing Court to try and get their landlord to fix up their building. They say their living conditions are so poor that they are forced to live with rats, broken elevators and sometimes without heat and hot water.

City records on the six-story brick building in Fordham show numerous complaints and violations. The residents say the outside of the building is also a mess, with a crumbling facade and garbage all over the place.

They are hoping the court will side with them and help make a change at their building. If their petition is approved, a judge will appoint an administrator to keep watch over the property and ensure that repairs are being made.
