Consumer Affairs office opens in the BX to better serve residents in the borough
A new Consumer Affairs office opened in the Bronx Tuesday.
The office will have nine agents and one director to help field complaints that are made through the city's 311 hotline. It will not be a walk-in office. The opening of the new office is part of the city's effort to have a Consumer Affairs office in each borough.
City officials hope by having an office in each borough they will be able to assist residents in a quicker and more efficient manner. The agents will be cross-trained to handle different types of problems and ensure that consumer protection laws are enforced.
The office is located at the Community Board 12 office.
