Police looking for predators targeting women in the Tremont section

(10/28/03) TREMONT - Police are searching for a few sexual predators targeting women in the Tremont section of the Bronx. Police sources say within the last 10 months, three Bronx women living on Creston Avenue have been raped. Different men attacked the three women.

At 2205 Creston Avenue, neighbors say there have been three attempted rapes since September, and two of the victims were teenagers. The most recent attack happened Saturday night. The attacks took place within the confines of the 46th precinct.

According to NYPD statistics, rape is down almost two percent in the confines of the 46th precinct compared to the same time last year. When News 12 The Bronx asked NYPD officials if they plan to beef up police presence around Creston Avenue, they refused to comment, only saying it was an ongoing investigation.
