Parents claim student behavior and violence are issues at M.S. 222

Parents say there are major problems at M.S. 222 that need to be addressed.

Parents with children attending M.S. 222 claim there are kids getting hurt all the time. They say kids are ruling the school and disrespecting teachers and picking fights with one another.

Both parents and kids want the problems to stop. Parents say they have been complaining to the Department of Education for more than year but have yet to see changes.

One thing parents feel will help the school is having proper supplies. Right now they say there are not enough desks or books for the students. They would also like to see kids face stricter consequences for bad behavior.

Teachers who spoke to News 12 The Bronx say they agree that the school needs attention from education officials.

The parents say they will continue to fight until something is done. They are planning to rally at City Hall.

A spokesperson for the Department of Education said the matter would be addressed.
