Democrats win big in the Bronx; voter turnout low in the borough
Democrats win big in the Bronx in the races for nine City Council seats.
It was celebration time at the Bronx Democratic Headquarters, as the party edged out the competition in all nine City Council races. The Bronx Democratic chairman said the reason his party was victorious is because it is a grass roots organization, and there is no one closer to the community than every individual member.
Meanwhile, the Board of Elections says voter turnout was disappointing. The Board of Elections says without many fiery issues on the ballot and no real contested races, it was no surprise that voter turnout was low.
