Parents and children take free classes at the Bronx River Art Center

Bronx parents and children are learning about the environment and are having fun while doing it. Parents say taking classes with their children at the Bronx River Art Center is an opportunity they couldn't pass up.

The center is offering the free classes to educate Bronx residents about the polluted condition of the Bronx River. Students say they're going to spread what they learn throughout The Bronx.

The classes are paid for with federal funds channeled through the lower Bronx River Partnership Program.

There will be an exhibit of all the artwork done by participants in the educational classes in the gallery on December 19. The art will be for sale with the proceeds benefiting the center.
